Q magazine contents page

The contents page is a lead on from the front cover and just gives more information about the features talked about. The language of the contents page is very important as that is the main feature that will get the audience to read the magazine. The magazine talks to the audience in a colloquial manner and everything is shortened as the audience are supposed to understand the concepts that are talked about "Terrace anthems ahoy with the 'Ersham Boys". The images in the contents page are references to the information that are on the contents page such as the interview and artists in the magazine. The images are rebellious and anti - social becuase it aims to appeal to anti - authority rebels and joiners, who wish to be accepted by those who lead this idea.

The layout of the contents page puts the information in the form of large headings such as "Features". Then underneath this heading, there are short lines of information informing the reader of what is being included but in a chatty form to engage the reader. There is a particular scheme layout of the contents page for example at the edges around the contents page there is black ink, purposely put there, to give the contents page a unkept feel to it. Also, scattered around the contents page, there are badges with bands such as "Never mind the bollocks, Sex Pistols" which were in fashion in this era and the type of music that was popular at the time.

The font used is also continuous throughout the contents page. Also the masthead, "Contents", is purposely put in a slanted position to suggest that the formation of the magazine is untidy and care - free. The colours used are mainly pink and black as the colours connotate glamour and rebellion, and this links to the genre of Punk, which expresses these ideas.
