Kerrang contents page

The contents page is a carry on from the front cover page and it goes into more detail about the features inside the magazine. There is a continuous colour scheme of black and yellow which is a connotation the feeling of rebellion and anger, which reflects the genre of indie/rock. There is a small side bar with minimal writing that only specifically directs the reader to the features of the magazine.

In contrast to the minimal writing, the images featured are extremely large and take up most of the area of the page. This is due to the audience being targeted at 14 - 19 year olds and so the layout of having large images and less writing suggests that the magazine grabs the attention of the audience by fulfilling this.

There is an editorial message at the top of the contents page which is a message from the editor of the magazine, talking to the readers about that particular issue of the magazine, where he expresses his opinions about the magazine.

There is also a quote from the primary image of the front cover, Marilyn Manson. This quote is the Unique Selling Point (USP) of the magazine as no other magazine places quotes at the top of their contents page to give a personal connection to the audience.
