Q Magazine cover

The magazine cover is targeted to appeal to a white audience as the primary image is of a white artist,. The genre of rock features majority of the time only white artists. Also, as this edition of "Q" magazine is an older version, the gender targeted is to be male, as the artists are generally specified to engage a male audience. The age that is targeted is to be 24 - 32 year olds because of the language used such as "Bollocks" which is language that this age group are more likely to be familiar with and will understand the concept that is being talked about.

The lifestyle of the audience targeted is going to be anti - authority rebels and joiners. This is due to the fact that the facial expression of the artist is excitable, carefree and the overall image of the artist is rebellious and the target audience are wishing to look at the artist as a role model to follow.

The body of the text "Never mind the Jubilee, Heres the true story of Punk!". This is situated across the mouth of the primary image of the artist to suggest to the readers that the genre punk is like a foulmouthed word that a punk artist would use. Also, it may be situated across the artists mouth to make it look like he is saying it to the reader. This may also suggest that he is trying to approach the demographic lifestyle of anti - authority rebels and to support the genre punk. The fact that it is condeming the royal personage of the country, extremely suggests that the genre is trageting anti - authority rebels, as they are against the higher authority over society.
